Sissy Screens is a curated platform for queer creatives to showcase, discuss and premiere their work and ideas. We champion queer film and screen culture, and create original content that provides a nuanced and evolving representation of LGBTQIA+ experiences. We are produced entirely by queer and gender diverse artists who are passionate about showcasing queer artists and their work.

AMERY OKE-JOHNSTON
Creative Director
Amery Oke-Johnston is a multi-disciplined designer based in Melbourne, Australia. He has worked across multiple queer and arts related projects, such as the design execution and re-brand of TILDE, Trans & Gender Diverse Film Festival and publication design for ‘Clear Expectations, Guidelines for Institutions, Galleries and Curators working with Trans, Non-Binary and Gender Diverse Artists’ (a NAVA funded project). The foundation of his approach is derived from the concept that design should not only touch the mind, but also the heart. Amery’s enthusiasm lies within providing individuals, communities and businesses access to services that clearly communicate their intent, cause and passion.

Alex is an Australian cinematographer who primarily works across films, documentaries and fashion projects. She priorities queer and female-identifying crew and their projects. Alex is passionate about nuanced queer characters and shooting jockstrap campaigns.

PARKER BLAIN
Photo Editor
Parker is an Australian photographer who specialises in lifestyle, food and documentary projects. His work has been featured in numerous publications and has exhibited in Australia, New York, London and Berlin. His project ‘Self Made’ began in 2014 as a photo series documenting trans men in Sydney but soon evolved into a way for Parker to express himself and begin his ongoing trans journey. Celebrating gender diverse artists, Parker curates exhibitions with his community and continues to champion and promote their work.
